In a tense final match, Nicholas Losole III prevailed over Jake Golembiewski to win the 86th Arizona Amateur Championship at Pinnacle Peak Country Club. Golembiewski led almost the entire match, but it was Losole who prevailed at the end on the 19th hole.

Lorens Chan of Honolulu, hung on to his second-round lead to win the TEE UP Junior Challenge presented by Kamen Rider Dragon Knight Cup on Thursday. His final round 2-under-par 70 gave him a two shot victory over Rak Cho of Brea, Calif. Szu-Han Chen of Beaumont, Calif., fired a final-round 4-under-par 68 to win by four shots. She finished with a three-day total of 2-under-par 214.

Shotaro Ban of San Jose, Calif., came out victorious at the Junior All-Star at LakeHavasu by sinking a 25-foot putt on the first playoff hole on Friday. Brittany Mai of Poway, Calif., won her final Junior All-Star event on the fourth playoff hole with a three day total of 2-under-par 214, one day before her sixteenth birthday.

The 16th hole at the TPC Scottsdale, the PGA Tour's loudest and most enthusiastic golf hole, will also become the Tour's first-ever true Stadium Golf Hole when the 2009 FBR Open tees off January 26th - February 1st. Tournament hosts The Thunderbirds have added close to 3,000 new general admission bleacher seats behind and to the right of the green on the 162-yard, par 3. The 16th is now fully enclosed by bleachers and skyboxes and has capacity for between 15,000 to 20,000 golf fans.

Golf Magazine recently featured its annual Top 100 Courses You Can Play rankings in its 2008 September issue, and for the first time Golf Magazine added a state-by-state ranking. OB Sports-managed We-Ko-Pa Golf Club debuted at No. 44 for its Saguaro course and No. 35 for its Cholla course in the Top 100 category. Five other OB-managed golf facilities were honored in the state-by-state rankings. Both courses, Players and Celebrity, at Indian Wells Golf Resort were ranked 13th and 16th respectively in California. Eagle Mountain Golf Club came in at No. 18 in Arizona. Three Crowns Golf Club earned the 4th spot in Wyoming. Longbow Golf Club made the 30th spot in Arizona, and Langdon Farms Golf Club was ranked No. 14 in Oregon.

We-Ko-Pa Golf Club Head Golf Professional Brett Trenter has been promoted to General Manager at the award-winning golf facility located just east of Scottsdale on the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation. Trenter replaces Jeff Lessig, who moved to the OB Sports-managed Indian Wells Golf Resort in Indian Wells, Calif. In addition, Derek Crawford has been promoted to director of golf operations after serving as director of sales and marketing at We-Ko-Pa since the club opened in December 2001. Finally, Matt Barr has been promoted from assistant golf professional to head golf professional.
