Upon opening in May of 2006 the John Fought-designed Centennial Golf Club in Medford, Oregon immediately became a popular venue for golf tournaments, group outings and competitive events. Nike Golf announced the appointment of Mike Francis to U.S. General Manager and Stan Grissinger to General Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) effective by December 1, 2008, according to company President Cindy Davis. Francis will be succeeding Davis, who was recently promoted from U.S. General Manager to the position of President, and Grissinger will assume Francis' role.

Lori Whitaker of Cumming, Georgia, a member of the Atlanta chapter of the Executive Women's Golf Association has won the EWGA Championship, the largest amateur women's golf competition in the United States. Whitaker captured the title shooting two rounds of 76 for a 36-hole score of 152. Jewel Malick of Rockwell, Texas and Patty Kimball of Scottsdale Arizona placed second and third.

Golf Magazine recently featured its annual Top 100 Courses You Can Play rankings in its 2008 September issue, and for the first time Golf Magazine added a state-by-state ranking. OB Sports-managed We-Ko-Pa Golf Club debuted at No. 44 for its Saguaro course and No. 35 for its Cholla course in the Top 100 category. Five other OB-managed golf facilities were honored in the state-by-state rankings. Both courses, Players and Celebrity, at Indian Wells Golf Resort were ranked 13th and 16th respectively in California. Eagle Mountain Golf Club came in at No. 18 in Arizona. Three Crowns Golf Club earned the 4th spot in Wyoming. Longbow Golf Club made the 30th spot in Arizona, and Langdon Farms Golf Club was ranked No. 14 in Oregon.

The Cleveland Golf Company is heavily involved in player development with support to junior, collegiate and developmental tour golf. For developmental tour players, Monday qualifying for the Nationwide Tour is a step in the right direction. The Cleveland Golf Tour is intended to provide an alternative event for players missing the cut in a Monday Qualifier. The Cleveland Golf Tour will offer 8 competitive, 36-hole events scheduled around the Monday Qualifiers. Each event will be held on the Monday Qualifying course. The first event will be held July 29-30 at Tiburon GC in Omaha, Nebraska.
