Land dealer Continental Ventures, LLC, which sells building lots in luxury golf resort communities is offering buyers a Name Your Price and Terms sale. Golf properties are well known to be very expensive. For golfers looking to relocate or retire to a golf property, it becomes evident that one must be pretty well heeled. Price ranges up to several hundred thousand dollars for a building lot or more are not uncommon. But how about $5,000. for property in Treasure Lake, a 9000 acre resort community with 2 PGA rated golf courses? That's what some people are paying, and even less.

A Victorian mansion once owned by the man who founded one of the greatest golfing tournaments in the world has been rescued from ruin and turned into the ultimate 'des res' for golfers. Coodham House, near Symington in Ayrshire was the family home of James Ogilvy Fairlie, the creator of Prestwick Golf Course and the man who started the Open Championship 149 years ago.
